Chicago Full Moon Jam – 1st Gathering of the Year! May 6th 2012

Come on out to the Full Moon Celebration! One of Chicago’s wonderful peoples traditions, this is the 1st gathering on the year!  We come together at the beach & have a huge drum circle, people dance & spin fire. This Sunday we will be heading from Zen Practice to the Full Moon Jam for all who wish to attend.

The Full Moon Jams’ unite performing artists and spectators through a love and appreciation of fire art. Encompassing myriad performance styles and tools, fire dancers from the greater Chicago area and Great Lakes share their creative gifts by the shore of Lake Michigan, set to the percussive beats of local musicians, in this unique and free to the public monthly event taking place through Spring and into Fall.

In Buddhism we see that all things are intrinsically connected, we have a deep respect for nature, & in the Zen tradition the moon is often spoken as a metaphor of awakening & enlightenment. This is event is a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate planet Earth together!
